‘We Prefer Them To Humans!’: Maltese Store’s Treatment Of Customers’ Pets Is Winning People Over
A heartwarming post has surfaced on RUBS thanking the staff of one of Malta’s biggest department stores for allowing customers to bring their dog with them to the store.
The story began when a woman called BigMat yesterday asking if they accepted dogs on their premise, to which they replied, “We prefer them to humans”. And while (as the woman herself felt like she had to point out in this day and age), they did mean this as a figure of speech, it was still an awesome reply to get in return.
BigMat’s behaviour did not go unnoticed, after the woman dedicated a post on RUBS thanking the staff of the store, not only for opening their doors to her “baby Rosie” and all our four-legged friends, but for the wonderful treatment they get at the store.
The woman noted how being at BigMat was a lovely experience because she was “not being looked at with apprehension” just for having her dog by her side.
The post quickly viral within the large Facebook forum, getting nearly 2,000 reactions in a day and amassing dozens upon dozens of positive comments. People were also quick to not only commend the BigMat staff, but also recommend other places around Malta that are just as welcoming of furry friends.
This isn’t the first instance BigMat made their affection for animals public
A couple of weeks ago, they rescued and re-homed a kitten that had lost its mother after it was run over by a car.
“If you fell in love with him too and are willing to adopt him we will give away this pet carrier, food and water bowl and a pack of cat litter for free,” the store had told its follwers on Facebook.
“That way, we will know he has almost everything he needs to start his new life.”
The post itself had gone viral, garnering up to 300 shares and even more hundreds of reactions.
Well done to the staff at BigMat for having such a pet-friendly policy!
