One of the beautiful things about Malta is that if we decide to make an effort in something, the term ‘diving in headfirst’ doesn’t even begin to cover the enthusiasm. And of all the possible things that we Maltese are known to overdo, Christmas decorations are definitely high on the list. 

Here are some examples of people who take their lighting very seriously.

1. Enemalta’s Best Friend

If this house in Attard spotted by Kim Pepe doesn’t keep the lights on at the light-providing company, then we don’t know what will. If you think that photo’s over the top, wait till you see a video of the decorations in action:

2. All The Lights

This work of art looks like the residents took all the street decorations of Naxxar’s main roads, and then added some more lights. And considering that both next door houses are pitch black, that might very well be the case. 

Matthew Randon’s got an eye for spotting those OTT vibes.

3. Neon Bethlehem 

That’s one fancy manger you’ve got there sir. Thanks to Yani Ellul for spotting this house, even if you could probably spot it from space. 

4. Now that’s what we call a White Christmas

This should more than make up for all the snow we never get in Malta, now with added lights. 

5. Forget that these are hung in Hamrun, Dallas is apparently where it’s at
