Young Maltese photographer Andrew Mercieca has shared some highlights from an experience many local F1 fans wish they could’ve had – being right in the pit lane!

Mercieca uploaded a series of photos which he took for the French Alpine team, with some impressive and dramatic shots which even include driver Esteban Ocon looking straight at him.

“Really grateful to have gotten this opportunity, excited to see what adventures life has in store for me next,” Mercieca wrote, sharing shots from the Shanghai Grand Prix which saw the French duo of Ocon and Gasly narrowly miss out on the points when they finished at 11th and 13th.

“It was a super exciting experience, but at the same time tiring both physically and creatively,” Mercieca told Lovin Malta of the unique opportunity.

“When working for a client like that, you obviously want to go all out to deliver the best possible work,” Mercieca continued. “And I’m also very grateful for Calvin Jurkovic who referred me to the opportunity. I’m hoping there’s more to come of this kind of work, but we just have to wait and see!”
