“Going into the competition, I was certainly not at my best and I didn’t have very high expectations. I’ve been recovering from injuries and illness. The final was very close and I was down a few match balls also, so to come back and win that and the title, I think, is something I couldn’t believe initially,” Colette told Lovin Malta. “Looking back, I think the hard work I’ve been putting in over the past months is paying off and I’m really happy to have gotten this title.”

Throughout the week, Sultana delivered an outstanding performance against international contenders. She advanced to the final after defeating Tansyn Noble of Australia in straight games (11-7, 11-2, 11-3) in the quarterfinals, and Ye Won Jang of South Korea (11-4, 11-7, 11-5) in the semifinals.

In a dramatic and hard-fought final, Sultana edged out Chaewon Song of South Korea in a thrilling five-game match (6-11, 11-9, 11-5, 8-11, 15-13) to secure the championship and her first PSA 3K title. Colette Sultana is proudly supported by the Malta Olympic Committee(MOC), SportMalta, and Malta Squash. This victory marks a significant milestone in Sultana’s professional career and highlights her rising status on the international squash circuit.

Sultana went on to thank her team of coaches and supporters who have been with her through many months and year of hard work.
