Benji Westwood Smashes Records At Island Karting Club In Ħal Far

He’s fast, he’s focused and he broke the Ħal Far karting track record not once, but three times.
Local racing prodigy Benji Westwood delivered an absolute masterclass at the Island Karting Club last weekend, representing PANTANO Team Malta with blistering speed and precision.
After lighting up the qualifiers with a jaw-dropping 39.7-second lap, Benji went on to secure P1 in both Heats and wrapped up the day with a dominant Final win. That’s a clean sweep.

For context: the previous record was 39.9 seconds. Benji didn’t just beat it, he shattered his own time multiple times in the same session.
But despite his growing international experience, Benji says local races still mean everything:
“You always learn something, and I love racing at home. It’s about being with my team, supporting my friends, and enjoying the day both on and off the track.”
Next stop is Zuera, Spain, where Benji will compete in the IAME Euro Series with PANTANO Racing Team Italy — facing off against over 60 of the world’s top junior karting talents.
Well done Benji!
