‘From The Villa To The Cage’: Love Island Malta’s Josh To Take Part In Gladiator’ 30th Anniversary Event
Former Love Island Malta contestant Josh Gatt will be returning to the ring in an MMA fight for Gladiators Promotions’ 30th anniversary event, ‘Lord of the Rings’, this weekend.
“The transition from the villa back to training was a long time coming, all I really wanted to do in the villa was get back to training fully, but it was a bit difficult the first week or two. My body was a bit more sore than usual because there’s a lot of laying around in the villa. I was excited to get back to training as soon as I got eliminated,” Josh said in a video teasing his trip “from the villa to the cage”.
Gladiators Promotions, one of the biggest contact sports promoters on the island, will be celebrating with a two-day event at the Montekristo Estate.
The event will be taking place today and tomorrow, with a substantial lineup of fights spread over the two days including boxing, MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and K1 rules bouts.
A total of 44 bouts of various categories, levels and styles will be showcased, with a variety of clubs and nations represented. The event will also include five separate titles in three different disciplines, including boxing, Muay Thai, and K1 rules.
The K1 Gladiators’ Title is also up for grabs, in three fights lined up for the night, as well as the WBC Muay Thai Amateur Mediterranean Championship Belt. The super middleweight boxing national title will also be contested, in a fight between Christian Schembri Coqqos and Elton Azzopardi.
