Malta’s tennis players are on fire at this year’s Davis Cup tournament, having beaten Andorra, San Marino and now Kosovo in the group stages.
Team Malta faced Team Kosovo earlier today, where they took the series 3-0, securing Malta’s number one spot in the group, alongside Ireland.
The first round was played between Malta’s Denzil Agius who beat Kosovo’s Burim Bytyqi 6-2, 2-6, 6-0.
The second round was played by Matthew Asciak who dominated Granit Bajraliu 6-0, 6-0.
The final matchup was doubles games between Malta’s Asciak and Sudzuka and Kosovo’s Bytygi and Zulji, with Malta breezing by with a 6-0, 6-1 win.
Team Malta is expected to face fellow group leaders Ireland tomorrow, in a matchup that will determine who will take the top spot in Group IV Europe Pool B.
