Haley Bugeja Shortlisted For Women’s World Best Youth Player U-20 Award
Maltese football sensation Haley Bugeja was just shortlisted in the Women’s World Best Youth Player Under 20 nominees for 2023 by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), according to Sports Deck.
Haley has had an incredible year when it comes to football. She joined Inter as a striker, led Malta to victory in a game against Andorra with three consecutive goals, and played in the historic game that promoted Malta to League B of the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
And now, the 19-year-old is being even more recognised for her talents through this incredible nomination.
The IFFHS is an organisation that chronicles the history and records of association football.
During the competition, Bugeja scored eight goals, securing her second place where she had only one goal less than the winner, Israel’s Sharon Beck.
This is the second time Bugeja made it on this coveted list. She was named in the organsation’s best XI and was included as one of four forwards in the selection.
The winner of this award will be announced in January.
Congratulations Bugeja!
