Inter Milan CEO Presents Haley Bugeja’s Shirt To Roberta Metsola During Visit To Milan
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola met with Inter Milan Chairman and CEO Giuseppe Marotta in Milan today, where she was presented with the shirt of Maltese football star Haley Bugeja, who currently plays for Inter Women.
The meeting came just days after Inter’s top officials visited the European Parliament in Brussels, ahead of their Champions League match against Union Saint-Gilloise. Metsola thanked the Italian club for believing in Maltese talent, saying she was proud to see Bugeja representing Malta at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Marotta and Metsola met during a Bocconi University event titled “Sport as a Key Factor for European Policies: The Impact of the Olympics and Paralympics on Our Society”, organised in collaboration with the European Parliament Office in Italy.
The event celebrated the return of the Winter Olympics and Paralympics to Europe, twenty years after Turin 2006, and highlighted the values of inclusion, respect, and teamwork.
Inter officials said they were deeply impressed by Bugeja’s performances and wanted to personally share their appreciation with Metsola during their Milan visit.
