Jake Vella, Malta’s Most Inspirational Athlete, Is Taking On A 1.7km Swim For The Country’s Abandoned Animals

Malta’s favourite triathlete Jake Vella and record-breaker Fabio Spiteri will be taking on a 1.7km swim in aid of dog shelter the Association for Abandoned Animals.

Lovin Malta first met Jake Vella over two years ago, when his determination to stay active despite his condition touched the nation and even made international news.

Jake has ROHHAD; a condition that means no matter how much he exercises or diets, he keeps gaining weight. There are only around 75 known cases of ROHHAD around the world, but this hasn’t stopped Jake from staying active.

On the first week of September, Jake Vella and Fabio Spiteri will set off from St Paul’s Islands and swim all the way down to Bugibba.

If any of you want to join them in the swim, all you have to do is donate €10 on the day. The exact date and time will be confirmed in the first week of September.
