Karl Miggiani Breaks National Sailing Record During Round Malta Race Despite Tough Conditions
Karl Miggiani made history by setting a new national sailing record in challenging conditions. The Malta Young Sailors’ Club hosted the Round Malta Race, a tough test for sailors. Miggiani, along with four others, embarked on the race around Malta.
The weather was harsh, with big waves and changing winds. Miggiani led most of the race, with Jean Paul Fleri Soler close behind. Some sailors had to quit due to the difficult conditions.
“The 75km stretch proved to be a challenging course, testing not only our physical fitness but also our mental resilience due to the unpredictable shifts in conditions we faced,” Karl Miggiani commented.
“Naturally, the satisfaction of not only completing the course but also setting a new record is immeasurable.”
His time of 3 hours, 46 minutes, and 5 seconds beat the old record by a big margin.
The Malta Young Sailors’ Club thanked sponsors and volunteers for their support and are now preparing for the Foiling 100 event in May.
Well done Karl! Share this with someone who loves to sail.
