Legendary martial artist Masakazu Imanari came to Malta for two weeks to train the Bajada brothers, who are head instructors of the local dojo Jiushin Kan Malta, as well as their sons and daughter.
Masakazu Imanari is a Japanese mixed martial artist and submission wrestler, he is famously known as the Master of Leglocks. wrestler. He currently competes in the Bantamweight division of Rizin Fighting Federation. A professional competitor since 2000, he is a veteran of ONE Championship, DEEP, ZST, Pancrase, PRIDE Fighting Championships, and Cage Rage. He was in the final Cage Rage Featherweight Champion, DEEP Bantamweight Champion, two-time DEEP Featherweight Champion and DREAM Japan Grand Prix Finalist. He is the namesake of “Imanari Roll” technique.
During his stay, Jiushin Kan Malta held an “Imanari roll” seminar conducted by Imanari himself at the local dojo.
At the end of the seminar, Christian and Roderick, who had also previously trained at Imanari’s dojo in Tokyo, Japan, were awarded Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) Black Belt by Masakazu Imanari.
Christian and Roderick, the head instructors of Jiushin Kan Malta, also hold seventh degree black belt in jiu-jitsu from the DNBK of Japan as well as sixth degree black belt in a British jiu-jitsu system.
