Malta Will Play Latvia Or Luxembourg In Nations League Play-Off

Malta still has a chance make a success out of its UEFA Nations League campaign.
With the league stage now complete, Malta will play either Latvia or Luxembourg in a do-or-die play-off. The winner over two legs will compete in League C next season, while the loser will play in League D.
Malta has a decent recent record against both sides, beating Latvia 1-0 in the Nations League back in 2020 and seeing off Luxembourg with an identical scoreline in a friendly last year.
The draw will take place on Friday, while the play-offs will take place in March.
Malta’s last game on the league stage was a drab 0-0 draw to Andorra last night, which can be seen as a successful result considering that defender Gabriel Mentz was shown a straight red card in the first half.
