Malta’s Biggest And Most Extreme Cushion: MaltaBMX Launches New Air Bag
Malta BMX just unveiled their brand new air bag – and hosted an event to immediately have BMX athletes jump, flip and spin their way through the air before landing safely on what is, essentially, a big air cushion.
“It was a great day of fun and learning new tricks,” Malta BMX General Secretary Nicholas Zammit told Lovin Malta.
He continued enthusiastically, “it was a much needed addition to our equipment”.
This newly unveiled air bag is a testament to commitments that new equipment would be installed at Malta’s only outdoor BMX facility.
The airbag was financed by SportMalta and the Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations – while the launch event was sponsored by Red Bull Malta and Alberta Malta.
BMX riders attending the event barrelled down one of Malta BMX’s steepest ramps before hitting another and launching themselves into the air – higher than most people would dream of whether they had the assurance of landing on an air bag or not.
While we’re still bound to this planetary gift (or burden, depending on who you ask) called gravity, what goes up must come down.
Seasoned riders and more recent inductees to BMXing took to Malta BMX this weekend to launch up in style, and come right back down safely.
