Malta’s Junior Tennis Stars Shine At Small States Championships

Malta has reason to celebrate as our young tennis talents took centre stage at the 2025 Tennis Europe Small States 14 & Under Championships in Luxembourg. The week was packed with incredible performances, capped off by an all-Maltese final in the Girls Singles event.
Julia Perrera Vega claimed Gold, while Pippa Cutugno took Silver, marking a proud moment for Maltese tennis. The two also teamed up in the Girls Doubles, bringing home Bronze and proving that our juniors are strong both individually and as a team.

On the boys’ side, Gianluca Pace and Kurt Bonnici added another Bronze to Malta’s tally in the Boys Doubles, with Gianluca finishing 5th and Kurt placing 10th in the singles competition.
The championships featured the best young players from Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro and San Marino, held at the National Tennis Centre.
A huge congratulations goes to the entire Maltese squad and coach Matthew Asciak for an incredible week of tennis.
Well done to all
