Malta’s national female football team managed to mount an incredible comeback against Luxembourg this weekend, coming out on top ahead of an exciting rematch later this morning.

Despite suffering a goal within the first quarter of the international friendly game on Friday evening, the Maltese side battled through the next 75 minutes, eventually scoring two goals thanks to the one and only Haley Bugeja.

Friday’s international friendly also served as a great debut for new coach Manuela Tesse in charge of Malta’s senior side, who was recently appointed in December 2022.

Malta and Luxembourg are now set to face each other for a second and final friendly match this morning at 11am.
