Maltese athletes Kai Azzopardi and Danica Bonello Spiteri won the National Standard Distance Championships organised from the Maltese Triathlon Federation last Sunday.

Triathlon is no easy feat. It’s an intense multi-sport race that combines swimming, cycling, and running, with athletes racing against the clock across all three disciplines, transitions included. Last Sunday’s race was set on olympic distance which translates into a 1.5-kilometre swim, a 40-kilometre bike ride and a 10-kilometre run.
