Maltese Futsal Team Are Dominating The Group Stages Of The UEFA Futsal Champions League
Luxol St Andrews are one step closer to qualifying for the next round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League, after beating Moldavan side Dinamo Chisinau 5-3 in Tromsø, Norway yesterday.
The Maltese team are in a favourable position to qualify for the next round after yesterday’s win secured them the number one spot, with 6 points in Group F of the preliminary rounds.
Luxol began their UEFA campaign with a 5-0 victory against Italian side Fiorentino last Wednesday giving the team a great confidence boost for their future matchups.
Yesterday’s bout against Chisinau proved much more difficult.
Despite going up 3-0 in the second half, the Maltese side conceded their first goal of the tournament but recovered quickly to make it 5-1. Chisinau managed to score two more goals but it wasn’t enough to make up their deficit, resulting in a 5-3 victory for the Maltese side.
Luxol are in a strong position moving forward and even a draw against Sjarmtrollan tomorrow will be enough to carry them into the next round of the competition.
Luxol will face Sjarmtrollan at 13:30 tomorrow.
