Maltese Horsemen Storm To First And Second Place In Two Separate Races In Sweden
Two Maltese horsemen bagged some serious results in Sweden, with one winning and another placing second in two separate horseraces in the same country.
In Åby, rider Shaun Formosa stormed to a first place spot, running against 12 riders, including two fellow Maltese competitors, with his horse – ‘Brave Hearth Oro’.
The race took place on the 11th August, and it was a first for Formosa, who emulated the achievements of a second Maltese rider, Warren Grech, who hit gold in Sweden last June.
On this occasion, Grech narrowly missed out on first but walked away with a second-place finish in Tinsgryd, Sweden, with his steed ‘Almagest’. The race took place on Sunday, 14th August.
He placed second out of 11 riders, all of whom were of Swedish origin.
Other Maltese riders shared in Formosa and Grech’s triumph. Among them was Isabelle Formosa. She finished third in her respective set in Sweden.
