Maltese Tai Chi instructress Alana Axisa has been invited to participate in her second showing of the martial art in Beijing, China.

Axisa has been invited by the China Cultural Centre (CCC) where she’ll demonstrate the art of Tai Chi in front of  5,000 spectators at the Youth Arts Festival in Beijing.

The CCC invites individuals who practice the Chinese language and the countries’ various art forms. Axisa’s connection with the organisation, and her recognition as a certified Tai Chi instructor in Malta, meant that an invitation was extended to her to perform the martial at the festival this year on the 20th of August.

This will be her second visit to China to demonstrate the martial art after her visit back in 2015. Axisa also recently met with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat who took a particular interest in the martial art and wished her the best of luck in her upcoming demonstration.
