A Maltese international mission agency is currently raising money for missions in Africa through the eighth edition of the Abseiling and Zipline Weekend.
Missio Malta, in collaboration with the Mosta Scout Group, is “challenging members of the public to dare to care and participate” in the event which is being held at Mosta Bridge.
The event has been described as “crucial” in the charitable efforts of Missio Malta which supports a number of projects in Africa.
“Once again, Missio Malta is collaborating with the amazing people at Mosta Scout Group, with whom we have collaborated for the past 8 years – organising a national event which has only grown from strength to strength,” the organisation’s Head of Communications and Fund-Raising Robert Farrugia said.
“In fact, the interest and attendance of the public during the event is remarkable, proving the event has become a mainstay in the calendar of many people. More importantly, each person who comes to take part in the event, while enjoying themselves, and spending some time engaging in healthy alternative activities will be effectively helping us make a difference in the lives of many people in Africa.”
During the event, attendees can also participate in Ejja Imxi Miegħi through the use of VR technology and treadmills which creates a virtual experience for participants of walking long distances in Africa to obtain clean potable water.
The event started yesterday and ends this evening. All activities are being led by the Mosta Scout Group personnel and all activities are covered by the necessary insurance policy.
