Reef Rampage! Surfers Tackle Some Serious Waves In Baħar Iċ-Ċagħaq

Strong winds might’ve ruined some plans last weekend, but if there’s one thing that was made even better with the gusts, it’s the waves which turned Sunday into an awesome inaugural Reef Rampage.

Organised by the Malta Surf Sup Association, the day of surfing drew in a crowd at Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq’s Marley’s for a number of rounds featuring local and foreign daredevils alike. By the end, however, it was French-American Hadrien Meilleur who took the top spot.

“The conditions were great all day, giving us consistent surfable waves with some breaks,” Bomba (Malta’s only surf brand and magazine) wrote of yesterady’s event. “This led to a show for the spectators and judges alike with plenty of action and every surfer catching points and scoring well.”

Next up on the agenda? A potluck dinner on Sunday 28th January at Valletta’s beloved seaside shack, Maori.
