With a time of 1:59.86, Gatt became the first Maltese woman to complete the event in under two minutes.

Although the 200-metre freestyle is not her usual event, she described the achievement as a significant milestone and an important step toward advancing Maltese swimming to new heights.

She extended her gratitude to the Maltese Olympic Committee, Malta ASA, SportMalta BeActive, Sliema ASC Swimming, and her sponsor Eurosport Malta for their support.
