Sliema Frank Salt has been crowned Enemed Cup champions after taking down St Julian’s Tum Invest in a dominant win over the weekend.

After a four-month hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Sliema showed no signs of rust as its players put on an impressive display against their neighbours across the board.

The Sliema side set the tone with an early 4-1 lead in the first session. However, St Julians were determined to stay in the race and put up a 2-1, 2-2 fight in the second and third session before easing off in the fourth to give Sliema a comfortable 1-3 advantage.

The final score was Sliema 10, St Julian’s 6.

The win comes just days before the start of the Summer League season, giving the Sliema side a welcome confidence boost before they begin their campaign for the league title.

The summer league will kick off today with Enemed Champions Sliema Frank Salt vs Otters Nivea.
