Team Malta Ends UEFA Women’s Nations League With Draw After Securing Promotion

Team Malta faced Andorra and achieved a hard-fought draw 0-0 during yesterday evening’s match.

“A hard-fought draw to close our UEFA Nations League campaign. Job done. Promotion to League B secured. Thank you to everyone who supported us on the journey!” wrote Malta Football Association (MFA) on social media after the match came to a close.

Team Malta made history as they progressed to League B when they bested Cyprus on Friday 30th May with a score of 1-0 in front of a crowd of 1,205 supporters on home soil.

This match, at Estadi de la FAF in Encamp, marked the end of the UEFA’s Nations League Group C2 campaign. Team Malta won Group C2 with 13 points, followed by Cyprus with 10, Georgia with 6, and Andorra with 5.

“One team. One mission. Our girls are ready for kick-off here at Estadio Encamp. Let’s finish the UEFA Nations League campaign strong!” wrote the MFA prior to the match.
