More from athletics, Beppe Grillo dominated his 200-metre heat, finishing first in 21.30 seconds, and unfortunately, Benjamin Salnitro did not finish his heat after stumbling into a hurdle.
Additionally, Matthew Galea Soler placed second during the 400-metre run landing another silver medal for Team Malta.

From the women’s team, Gina McNamara and Mireya Bugeja claimed two spots on the podium for the women’s 1,500-metre race as they placed second and third respectively.
Tennis
In the tennis court, Francesca Curmi and Elaine Genovese managed to secure the final of the women’s doubles event. They defeated Andorra’s pair with a score of 6-2 and 6-4, this has secured them, at the very least, second place. They will be facing either Luxembourg or Cyprus in the final.
Alex de Gabriele is through to the semi-finals of the men’s singles competition after he bested Luxembourg’s Raphael Calzi with a score of 7-6, 6-2. In today’s semi-final, he will be facing Monaco’s Valentin Vacherot.
Congratulations to Team Malta for reaching its target and good luck for the upcoming events.
