It’s time to break the stereotype that Maltese aren’t good at sports because time and time again we prove that we are some of the best.

Case in point, Penn State Nittany Lions wrestler Anthony Cassar, who this year led the Pennsylvania-based university to an NCAA wrestling championship title…

It doesn’t get much better than winning a Division I title in the US, like literally there’s nothing else to win at this point.

Anthony Cassar originates in Malta but was brought up in Rocky Hill, New Jersey. He’s an all-star athlete performing at Penn State and competes and wins at the 285 pounds category, and we can see why…

Cassar still has a couple of years left with the Nittany Lions but, with a national championship under his belt, his main focus moving forward is the 2020 Olympics.

The big question is, will he compete under a Maltese or American flag?
