‘Time To Celebrate’: Joseph Portelli Addresses Ħamrun Spartans Fans After League Win
Ħamrun Spartans president Joseph Portelli issued a celebratory message to the club’s fans, telling them that “today is [their] day”.
“Today is the day we celebrate. I hope we have fun and that no one gets hurt. This day is even more special because we have acquired a star,” the president said ahead of today’s final game against the Hibernians.
Regardless of the outcome of today’s match, which will take place at 2 pm, Ħamrun Spartans will get to lift the Premier League trophy for the second year in a row.
Last week, the Spartans put on a commanding performance, defeating Floriana 5-0 to secure their position as Malta’s reigning champions.
Under the leadership of Luciano Zauri, Ħamrun required a victory to guarantee their Premier League title win, and they showcased their prowess with an impressive performance.
The club has also been awarded a star since this year’s league win marks their 10th overall victory.
