Valletta FC To Honour Palestinian Families In Malta During This Sunday’s Match

Valletta Football Club will honour a group of Palestinian families who recently arrived in Malta following the humanitarian crisis in Gaza this Sunday during their match against Żabbar St. Patrick’s at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Valletta Football Club.
As part of the pre-match ceremony, children from these families will accompany Valletta players onto the pitch, sending a message of unity and support under the banner “Together for Palestine.”
The initiative is a symbolic act of compassion and solidarity, reflecting Valletta FC’s long-standing connection with Palestine. For decades, Valletta supporters have been affectionately known as “tal-Palestina”,  a name that embodies resilience, pride, and the spirit of perseverance in the face of adversity.
Through this gesture, the club aims to acknowledge the suffering endured by the Palestinian people while extending a warm welcome to the families now rebuilding their lives in Malta. It also serves as a reminder of football’s power to unite people beyond nationality, culture, or circumstance.
The match against Żabbar St. Patrick’s marks the final fixture of the first part of the opening round of the season. However, much of the focus on Sunday is expected to be on the meaningful message that will precede the game, one that highlights humanity, solidarity, and hope through sport.
