Malta’s football champions Valletta F.C have continued on their Champions League journey after advancing to the next round of qualification following a 3-3 aggregate win on away goals against Luxembourg club Dudelange.

Last night, Valletta secured a 1-1 draw in Ta’ Qali a week after coming back from a two-goal deficit in a dramatic first leg.

Mario Fontanello opened the scoring on the 35th minute, only for Pokar to equalise 15 minutes into the second half.

F91 Dudelange upped the pressure after equalising in the second half, but Valletta showed enough resilience to keep their opponents at bay.

The Maltese champions will meet either Hungary’s Ferencvaros or Bulgarian champions Ludogorets in the next round.

Ferencvaros won the first leg 2-1 at home, with the second leg taking place in Razgrad this evening
