Watch: Australian-Maltese UFC Fighter Wins Round In Just Three Minutes Earning Him An Official UFC Contract
Aussie Aussie Aussie! Australian-Maltese UFC Welterweight knocked out his opponent in just three minutes in Dana White’s Contender Series.
25-year-old Jonathan Micallef ’s professional mma career began in 2022, but his amateur fights date back to 2019. Since then, the young star broke through the ranks with win after win, showing off his strategic fighting techniques.
During Week 10 of Dana White’s Contender Series in Las Vegas, an event aimed at pinning the best up-and-coming fighters against each other for professional contracts, Micallef blew the competition out of the park.
In a mere three minutes and one second into the first fight of the night, Micallef, nicknamed “The Captain”, won by technical submission via triangle choke against his opponent Mohamed Ado, earning him an official UFC contract.
The win also boosted up his stats to a 7-1 win/loss in his current professional career, but, if you count his amateur wins, the total goes up to 12-2 and counting!
The wins for the athlete don’t end there, as late last month, the athlete alongside his wife Jackie Sarah Micallef introduced the world to a new fighter, little baby Raphael.
Congratulations to The Captain!
