WATCH: Behind The Wheel Of A Vintage Porsche Manoeuvring Its Way Through The Mdina Grand Prix
For once a year, Mdina transforms into a hub for car enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies alike. Vintage cars take to the streets of the old city in a showcase of some of the most sought-after classic cars the world has to offer.
The Malta Classics is more than just a car show, however, and features three spectacular events; The Mdina Hill Climb, the Malta Classic Concours d’Elegance, and the Malta Classic Grand Prix; where a pack of eight to 10 cars take to an unforgiving make-shift circuit in a thrilling race to the finish line.

One driver captured his race at the Grand Prix in a stunning Porsche 911 and it shows just how fun (and pant-soiling) this race can be at the same time.
Racers and their vehicles are put to the test as they wind their way through a valley of vineyards and terraced hills outside Mdina which can prove a difficult task for some considering that the margin for failure is quite slim…
And it was that same driver, Jeremy Darmenia, who showed everyone what slipping up looks like in a powerful car like his 911 Targa.
Spinning out in a vintage Porsche would almost result in me getting a heart attack, but for this experienced driver, it’s just another day on the track.
For those who were looking for a less thrill-seeking weekend, Malta Classics also had some breathtaking cars on display.

Thankfully, the bad weather that descended upon Malta last week didn’t carry on through the weekend and resulted in a dry, enjoyable and successful Malta Classic.
Apart from the Grand Prix, the Malta Classics also included the most traditional form of motor racing, a hill climb.
No race is really a race without a winner.
Congrats to Joshua Anastasi, Zach Zammit and Michael Pace, the top three who mastered the Mtaħleb hill climb in their vintage cars!
The Malta Classic was truly car paradise and it helped that it was held at one of the most stunning locations on the Maltese islands.
