There’s no stopping Maltese footballer Haley Bugeja who has proven to be a goal-scoring machine for Serie A side Sassuolo Femminile.
The 16-year-old impressed with her ball skills last weekend as she weaved past defenders and threaded a beautiful 57th-minute goal against Florentia San Gimignano, topping off a 3-0 win for her team.
In addition to scoring a goal, Bugeja made her presence known on the field, proving to be a deep threat for Florentia who struggled to keep the 16-year-old from penetrating their defence and taking a couple of shots on goal.
In fact, this dominant narrative has become commonplace for Bugeja who netted four goals in four games for Sassuolo Femminile who she signed with just last September.
Bugeja isn’t just proving to be a dominant force in her team, but in the league too, coming in at seventh for total goals scored in the league, just three behind top goalscorer Cristiana Girelli who plays for Juventus.
At just 16 years old, Haley is proving to be the future of Maltese football.
