Ħamrun Spartans have departed Malta ahead of their upcoming UEFA Conference League group stage clash against Türkiye’s Samsunspor- another milestone in the club’s historic journey.

The team shared a short reel on social media capturing their takeoff from Malta International Airport, captioned “Türkiye bound.” Supporters showed their support in the comments with messages of encouragement as the Spartans set off for their next challenge.

Looking ahead, the most anticipated fixture of the group stage will take place on 27th November, when Ħamrun host Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps. The match will mark a truly historic occasion- the first-ever meeting between clubs from two European microstates in the main stages of a continental competition.

The Spartans will go on to face Shakhtar Donetsk on 11th December and conclude their group stage journey with an away fixture against Shamrock Rovers in Ireland on 18th December.

Best of luck to the team as they continue to make Maltese football history!
