Watch: ‘It’s Perfect’ – Strongman Eddie Hall On Choosing Malta For Battle Of The Beasts

World-famous strongman Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall had nothing but nice words to say about Malta, calling it an “easy choice” for his upcoming sports series Battle of the Beasts.
Answering a question from Lovin Malta during a press conference earlier today, Eddie explained that Malta was chosen to film the brand-new show because of its “perfect” scenery, calling it one of the “most beautiful” countries he’s ever been to.
“You just need to take a five minute drive to realise how beautiful this country is. We’re doing some of the events at the Fort where Gladiator was filmed – the backdrops are just perfect,” Eddie said.
“What better scenery could you want for beasts like us?”
Battle of the Beasts is a sports entertainment series which is being filmed in front of a live audience this week. Eddie teamed up with Camelot Films to show ten of the world’s strongest men battling it out in outrageous challenges designed to push every limit.
The series features reigning World’s Strongest Man Rayno Nel, three-time champion Tom Stoltman, plus Mitchell Hooper, Gavin Bilton, Evan Singleton, Terry Hollands, Paddy Haynes, Mark Felix and Trey Mitchell.
Eddie himself is a strongman icon, being crowned the title in 2017 and becoming the first person ever to deadlift 500kg. He’ll be hosting the show alongside celebrity co-hosts.
From sumo wrestling at Fort Ricasoli to a belly flop contest at Mellieħa Bay and even an extreme eating challenge, the competitors will fight for the crown of the first-ever Battle of the Beasts champion.
The show will be filmed in front of a live audience starting this week. To snag tickets for the different events, click here.
