Watch: Jordan Gusman Breaks Maltese National Record By 12 Minutes In Chicago Marathon Debut
Maltese athlete Jordan Gusman has broken a national record during his debut full marathon in Chicago by an impressive 12 minutes.
The 29-year-old athlete took part in the 45th edition of the annual Chicago Marathon that was held on Sunday. Over 50,000 runners from 50 states and 100 countries took part.
In a moment of triumph for Malta, Gusman not only crossed the finish line but also etched his name into the Maltese record books, securing a commendable 19th place finish. “Satisfied but hungry for more. First one done,” he wrote to Instagram.
The long distance runner has won several medals for the island at the Games of the Small States of Europe over summer, where he won multiple medals for Malta. His dedication and skill continue to inspire the local sporting community and beyond.
Starting his profession in 2011 at just 17 years old, he began running in Sydney and the Gold Coast Australia. He began running in half marathons in 2018 in Canberra.
