When it comes to the world of hospitality, Airbnb has changed the name of the game. Naturally, Malta has joined in on the fun, proving that some of our nations best hidden gems are a literal stone’s throw away. 

From the quaint and traditional to the pleasantly surprising, here are our favourite unexpected picks from Malta’s Airbnb hostings.

With views to rival any drone shot, this Valletta penthouse is situated inside a renovated 18th century property. Aside from being smack in the heart of Malta’s capital, the penthouse has been fully modernised and is the epitome of privacy. 

2. Ancient houses kicking ass

One bus ride across the island takes you to this hidden paradise in Rabat. This 500-year-converted house of character is perfect for a visiting family or the business traveller, complete with a full-size office and a sliding glass ceiling for a night underneath the stars.
