Support The Pups: Help This Maltese NGO Raise Money For Guide Dogs

They say a dog is man’s best friend, but throw the word “guide” in front, and you’ve got so much more than a life companion.

Lion’s Club Sliema is hosting an event in the hopes of raising money for a guide dog, and to do this, they will be offering items such as clothes, books and soft toys in exchange for a small donation to their cause.

A philanthropic NGO spanning over four and a half decades, Lions Club Sliema have engaged the community in a number of initiatives over the years, from an organ donation campaign to the restoration project of the frescoes at St. Agatha’s Catacombs. Lions Club are also behind the ongoing work of preserving Malta’s patrimony at the National Library of Malta.

“Our members’ aim is to strengthen the club even further in its philanthropic and social aspects,” the NGO says in its mission statement. ” In doing this, we rely on the generous assistance of long-serving members who have served, and continue to serve, on the many boards through which our Club works.”

If you would like to support their latest endeavour, the event will be taking place in the Stella Maris Parish Hall, Sliema, from 9am to 1pm.
