Two Maltese brothers have made it to the Forbes “30 Under 30 Local Miami List” for their e-commerce company Krepling.

“Liam and Travis Gerada are the dynamic duo of brothers who created Krepling, an innovative platform designed to help e-commerce companies grow their businesses without needing any coding skills,” the Forbes list describes them.

“More than 600 merchants use Krepling to easily build both the front-end and back-end of their online stores, and the platform also automates marketing tasks for them to implement. The Geradas have raised $2.5 million since the company’s launch in 2020 and say they will surpass $1 million in revenue this year.”

Speaking to Lovin Malta, Liam Gerada expressed gratitude for the brothers’ recognition, noting: “Recognition is just a small part of the journey. We try our best to remain grounded and focused on the mission: building the most powerful commerce platform for a modern merchant.”

Having studied at San Anton School in Malta, Gerada’s entrepreneurial journey began early. At 17, he sold his first enterprise to an investment group in the UAE for an undisclosed sum. This success was shortly followed by a prestigious full-ride scholarship in June 2020, allowing him to pursue advanced finance studies post-college.

However, the brothers’ most significant stride in the business world came with the establishment of Krepling in May 2021. Just a month after its launch, the company secured a pre-seed investment of $100,000, catapulting its valuation to $1 million. This initial success wasn’t fleeting, as Krepling’s worth skyrocketed to over $15 million in less than six months since its first funding round.

“We are excited about where the industry is going. The exponential growth of Krepling in the current marketing conditions definitely exceeded all expectations.”

The rapid growth attracted multiple investors, with names like Jason Calacanis, Launch, Jon Orginger, and Pareto Holdings betting on Krepling’s future.

The Geradas has strong ties to both South Africa and Malta and have always valued collaboration, particularly with family.

Reflecting on his past ventures, Liam said: “My brother and I were always closely working on projects together. We had built a startup together and worked closely on solving problems even prior to that.”

They also shared an exciting update: they’re about to close the year with nearly $2 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and are in the final stages of their second funding round.

As of 2023, Krepling has clients from over 80 countries, reinforcing the Geradas emerging status as a significant voice in global e-commerce.
