Hey Mr AI DJ, Put A Record On: Spotify Rolls Out AI Radio Host
All aboard the AI train.
After the revolution sparked by ChatGPT, an AI-powered bot that can write just about anything, the world’s biggest streaming platform is also harassing the technological prowess of artificial intelligence with a new DJ.
Spotify is rolling out ‘AI DJ’, an artificial intelligence bot that acts as your personal radio host, curating your sounds according to your streaming tastes.
“With this generative AI tooling, our editors are able to scale their innate knowledge in ways never before possible,” a Spotify press release reads.
In a promotional video, a casual male voice introduces itself to a user: “Hey Max, what’s going on? I’m X and from this moment on I’m going to be your own personal AI Dj on Spotify – let’s go!”
Playing songs according to your moods and listening history, the tech host promises to be Spotify’s most personal feature yet, talking you through every few songs in a stunning (or creepy?) realistic voice, just as a human presenter would when you turn on the radio.
This feature, first rolling out in beta in the US and Canada, should pop up on phones worldwide soon, see keep your eyes and ears peeled…
