Instagram Reports Worldwide Outage Amid Growing Tension At Facebook
Instagram unexpectedly went offline earlier this morning, affecting users worldwide including Europe, the United Kingdom, parts of the USA, Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, and a number of South American nations.
The alarm was raised around 09:00 CET, with numerous reports alerting the Facebook-owned platform of the unexpected downtime. Users had experienced an inability to log-in to their accounts, load photos, view their feeds and access the photo sharing platform’s website.
Users locally reported the platform has started to work again around 10:15 CET.
While this is certainly not the first time the platform has experienced sudden downtime, the latest issue comes just days after the worldwide Facebook hack that affected over 50 million users, and the sudden departure of Instagram’s founders from the company after reported disagreements with parent company Facebook over how the platform should be managed.
