WATCH: Malta’s Favourite Phone Is Officially Back – And Yes, So Is Its Best Feature
Judging by our readers’ excitement when we shared the news of the impending return of the Nokia 3310, we figure that a look at the official new model might just send them over the edge…
With good reason – this updated version of the 00’s classic is everything we could have hoped for. It’s true to the original, but totally belongs to 2017. We’re absolutely dying to get our hands on one of these babies!
The new 3310 model is being produced by the Finnish start-up HMD Global, which has also unveiled several other Nokia-branded Android smartphones. Their company is driven on the philosophy that Nokia has been expounding for years: “that technology can enhance and improve the lives of billions of people around the world.“
The 2017 Nokia 3310 is being marketed as a thin, light and durable phone with 22-hour talk-time and month long stand-by. It’s being sold in four great colours – Warm Red and Yellow, both with a gloss finish, and Dark Blue and Grey both with a matte finish. It retail at an average global retail price of €49. Kważi b’xejn!
As for internet facilities – it relies on 2.5G connectivity – which is slower than 3G or 4G. Users will be able to browse, but there won’t be the range of app selection that you’re used to from Android and iOS. Which means we might be able to enjoy a little less phubbing in our social communities.
Also, its camera is only two megapixels – but we’re kind of taken in with that whole lo-fi image feel that we’re expecting to see from the 3310’s phone-snaps.
And the answer to the biggest question…
Yes, snake is back!
So, really, that’s all we need to know. Now we can all take to the streets to celebrate the comeback of this mobile-phone-institution that we all love and have missed sorely!
