Noel Zarb, the voice behind Big Brother, said that the personal insults he and the production team received for doing their job went overboard at times.

Moments after Jay was announced as the winner, Noel shared some reflections on his three-month journey as the ominous and all-seeing voice in the House.

It has been an absolute honour to be entrusted with the role of Big Brother’s voice, an iconic part of the format that has captivated audiences worldwide,” he said.

“However, on a more serious note, while everyone is entitled to their opinion, the personal comments, tagging, and insults directed at me and the entire production team – simply for doing our jobs – were unexpected and, at times, went overboard.”

“At the end of the day, I was playing a character, just as I do when I perform on television or on stage. And yet, I was called every name under the sun.”

“I won’t name names, but I sincerely hope that those who threw these words around will never find themselves in a situation where they are subjected to the same treatment just for doing their job.”

Noel went on to praise the production team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes of Malta’s largest and first-ever 24/7 reality TV show.

“Behind the scenes, there was an army of talented, hardworking people who made this show what it was, people who I am proud to call colleagues, and even my second family. To each and every one of them—I commend you.”
