L-Iskorpjun: First International Drama Dubbed In Maltese Coming To TVM
Media Exclusive Ltd, in co-production with PBS, has announced the launch of L-Iskorpjun (Akrep), the first-ever international drama to be fully dubbed in Maltese.
The hit Turkish series will premiere on TVM on Monday 29th September at 10pm, marking a milestone moment for local television.
L-Iskorpjun is already one of Turkey’s most popular dramas, with a gripping storyline filled with betrayal, conflict and passion. Now, for the first time, families in Malta and Gozo will be able to enjoy it in their own language.
PBS CEO Ing. Keith Chetcuti said the collaboration reflects PBS’s commitment to bringing high-quality international content to Maltese audiences while also continuing to promote the Maltese language. He added that L-Iskorpjun has already captured millions of viewers worldwide, and now local audiences can share in that experience.
Co-Founder and Company Director at Media Exclusive Chris Gravina explained that the series represents an important step in broadening the range of international productions adapted for Maltese viewers, placing the language itself at the very heart of the experience.
Meanwhile, Nadya Cachia, Partner and TV Production Director at Media Exclusive, said that the team worked meticulously on casting voices to ensure that every character is represented as authentically as possible.
She explained that the goal was to give Maltese audiences the same intensity and emotion that international viewers experienced, but in their own language, a challenge the company is proud to take on.
