It’s back! Masterchef Malta Season 2 has arrived, and it’s time to turn up the heat in the kitchen.

Following last year’s sensational debut, which saw Nicolas Bezzina take the crown, over 600 hopefuls applied to be part of this season. Judges Victor Borg, Joe Vella, and Letizia Vella are back to decide who will rise to the challenge.

During the first episode, 30 aspiring chefs were selected from the auditions, where they had just 45 minutes to prepare a dish of their choice. Contestants were judged on technique, taste, originality, quality, and presentation.

Out of these 30, only 12 coveted Masterchef white aprons are up for grabs.

The competition is fierce, with each contestant cooking their signature dish in 35 minutes.

Cooking two at a time, they presented their creations to the judges, but had to wait until the end to find out who would earn an apron.

With a grand prize of €25,000, a set of pots, a collaboration opportunity on a menu, their own recipe book, and the iconic Masterchef trophy, the pressure was on.

Some contestants struggled under the stress, with dishes ranging from undercooked lamb to what Chef Victor called the “worst sauce” he’s ever tasted.

The first six aprons were handed out in this thrilling opener, leaving us eager for the next episode to see who else will join the competition.
