Apart from peace, joy and love, Christmas has recently started to also bring with it some amazing campaigns. And while international ones like John Lewis and Marks&Spencer steal the hearts of millions around the world, Malta’s also been releasing some heartwarming videos of their own. And some of them are as heartwarming as they get. 

In no particular order (until you yourself choose), here are the top four Maltese Christmas ads. Which one managed to steal your heart this year?

1. Sound Salon’s Sad Nannu

A constant reminder that no one deserves to be alone, especially in Christmas. Featuring a sad nannu wearing his old war uniform and a selfless act of kindness. What more do you need to jerk those tears?

2. GO’s Together Campaign

A young boy whose birthday happens to fall on Boxing Day feels like his special day is constantly overshadowed. No one gives the poor fellow the time of day, but it all works out in the end with an adorable surprise. Be still, my beating heart.

3. Cisk’s Christmases Since 1929

Nostalgia, a great idea, and an even better execution. A young man goes the extra mile to bring his father’s Cisk memories come to life. It’s been awesome for nearly 90 years over at the Cisk factory, and this year is no exception.

4. HSBC’s Christmas Surprise

How do you thank your customers if you’re a big bank like HSBC? Well, go cahoots with all the retailers at Malta’s biggest shopping mall, and let them know when someone whips an HSBC card out. When that happens, ring a bell, and wait for Santa Claus to barge in with a surprise hug. Genius.

5. Vascas’ Cute Christmas Campaign

Christmas is a celebration of love, and this video knows it all too well. Add an adorable girl getting scared of her first piercing, only to be encouraged by her father getting a matching earring, and you’ve got yourself a killer 30 second Christmas video.
