Tantalisingly close to the end of another 365 days since the last lists of New Year’s Resolutions were made, many people might soon be regrouping to look back onto what’s been a very long and eventful 2018. But one Maltese person has taken the dissonance between expectation and reality all the way to our own surroundings… particularly Balluta Bay.

The newly-installed sandy beach between Sliema and St. Julian’s has been the target of frequent criticism and the butt of many jokes over the last month, particularly when people woke up to it being demolished after a bout of August rain.

Using the stark difference between Before and After photos of the manmade beach, Jamie Vella took to Facebook earlier this week for a hilarious rendition of his own New Year’s Resolutions, and how quickly they all crumbled away mere days later.
