6 Outdoor Markets In Malta That You’ll Absolutely Love

Market shopping is an experience, one that we enjoy so very much. Not only can you find some rare gems, local produce (support the farmers guys), vintage items and among other things…but you can find them all at a steal!

Here’s a list of outdoor markets in Malta that you definitely need to visit. Happy Shopping!

1. Birgu Street Market

What it sells: Clothes, shoes, food and beauty products.

Opens
: Tuesdays. Get there really early as they start closing off at around 11am!

Where:
Triq Il-Ġublew Tal-Fidda, Bormla

2. Birgu Flea Market

What it sells: This has a bric-a-brac, car boot kinda vibe. You’ll find plenty of second hand clothes, shoes, random vintage finds, memorabilia and plenty of quirky stuff!

Opens:
Sunday early morning. It starts at around 6am

Where:
Fuq Il-Fortini

3. Marsaxlokk Fish Market

What it sells: The freshest and largest collection of fish/seafood you’ll find! This market is popular and totally worth the hype. There are also a small selection of stalls that sell other items such as local produce and souvenirs.

Opens:
Sunday (super early) till around noon.

Where:
Xatt is-Sajjieda

4. Merchant Street Market

What it sells: Clothing, antiques, old books and other items in a flea market like setting! You’ll definitely find a bargain.

Opens:
Monday-Saturday, around 8am – noon

Where:
Ordinance Street, Valletta

5. Ta’ Qali Farmers’ Market

What it sells: Strictly only Maltese produce (meat, Bigilla, cheese, veg, fruit, honey, fish, bread and meat) that come directly from the farmers.

Opens:
Tuesdays (6:30am – 5pm) and Saturdays (9am – 5pm).

Where:
Attard

6. Rabat Market

What it sells: Pastizzis, fresh Maltese breads and biscuits, clothing as well as other bits and bobs.

Opens: Sundays from early morning!

Where:
Right next to St Paul’s church.
