Għaxaq Music Events have just announced the details of this year’s edition of the Summer Lust Music Festival which will be organized in the village of Ħal Għaxaq on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th May.  Summer Lust will showcase a good number of international artists together with the best local talent. The organisers have taken care to give an opportunity to local talent to be part of this festival which in the last days of May for the past twenty years, has always attracted massive crowds at Għaxaq. Summer Lust will be held at Għaxaq grounds which are located exactly at the centre of this village.

This year, Għaxaq Music Events will once again work hand in hand with a philanthropic organization. This year donations collected at the door will go in aid of Dar tall-Providenza. In the last two editions, almost €35,000 were collected and donated to Dar Bjorn. The organizers will present this year’s donation during the feast of Saint Joseph being celebrated in Ħal Għaxaq in the 1st week of June.

Nineties music will open the first night on Friday, whereby top international artists including DJ Sash with his 90’s hits; Ecuador, Stay, Mysterious Time and Sonique with her music productions Sky, Alive and It feels so good. Joining them will be Nineties singers Maria Nadler with her hits One is One and Naked & Sacred, and Kirsty Hawkshaw with her Hits Just Be and Fine Day. Summerlust 90’s Edition will also feature top Maltese DJs Ryan Spiteri and Tenishia. All these artists will certainly create a magical atmosphere whereby stage effects and dancers will also feature to create a memorable experience for those who will attend.

Hardcore Pink Floyd fans out there are in for a real treat the day after, Saturday 20th May whereby The Scandinavian Pink Floyd will be performing again at Gaxaq Grounds. The Scandinavian Pink Floyd Show, one of the most ambitious and popular bands in Denmark, will be giving a show of legendary music combined with a unique sound and light show. The group, which is very well known for its spectacular shows, is considered one of the best tribute bands in Europe and the best tribute band in the Scandinavian countries, with their shows resembling those given by the real legendary Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd is not only synonymous for their famous albums which brought them great success but also for their spectacular and unique sound and light shows. The organisers are working very hard with both local and Danish engineers to ensure that they produce a show that creates the proper atmosphere for this concert. Supporting Act will be Matthew James while Ziggy will have a closing gig ending the two-day festival.

As always, this festival will be offered free of charge to everyone because the interest of the organizers has always been to create long-lasting memories for all those who attend. However, those who wish to purchase VIP tickets are now on sale. It is also worth mentioning that there will be assigned parking areas and so this should not be a problem.

Such a festival will not only offer a music show but will also promise great light shows and other effects that come together to truly create a memorable evening for all who join. This festival is being held in collaboration with the Malta Council for the Arts as well as Festivals Malta.
