A Full English at Granny’s

So the coffee at Bay Square didn’t only wake you up, but that primal urge for a protein-rich breakie...fear not! Perhaps the absolute best food-for-value in all of Malta is mere steps away.

Granny’s Restaurant located at the top of the square - offers an excellent Full-English breakfast for only €2.95! That’s 3 rashers, 2 eggs, sausage, baked beans, grilled tomato, toast and a mug of tea or coffee – for under €3!

It’s a tough deal to pass up – but if you’d prefer something a bit lighter, you’re in luck. Granny’s has a rather large menu to choose from – and everything is very reasonably priced

Take a stroll down the Buġibba Promenade

How about a bit of a walk to burn off that delicious morning protein feast?

The Bugibba Promenade will take you on a gorgeous journey in either direction – St Paul’s Bay to the left, or the Aquarium and Café del Mar to the right. Nothing beats those views of St Paul’s Island!

Nature’s free!

Visit the National Aquarium

So you’ve veered right on a hunch that you’ll be lounging poolside at Café del Mar when the sun hits peak-heat. Before you stretch out, make sure you stop into the aquarium next door for a little taste of life beneath the waves.

The aquarium is beautifully broken up into six sections, where you can see fish indigenous to Malta and the Mediterranean, topical fish from the Indo-Pacific Ocean, replicas of an ancient Roman ghost shipwreck, and the original anchor used by Saint Paul during his voyage to Malta.

Aquarium tickets - €13.90 Adult

Lunch and Lounge at Café del Mar

Your hunch was right –here you are at the breathtaking Café del Mar

Kick back and relax poolside where you can treat yourself to something extraordinary from Café del Mar’s exquisite selection of pizza, sushi, and cocktail options. Wait out the heat of the day in style, and sip on a cool cocktail during sunset. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better lounge to enjoy a nice, cold sunset beverage.

Fior Di Latte Pizza - €10.50

A cold beer in this heat - priceless

Roots, Rock, Reggae at Ta Fra Ben Reggae Bar

Just beside Café del Mar lies the Holy-Grail of chill. While this little hidden gem is certainly not as big on aesthetics as their neighbors – the crowd is one-of-kind friendly, the atmosphere is organically relaxed, and their mojitos certainly hold up against most cocktail-specialty bars in Malta. Try the Rudeboy Mojito, if you dare…

Traditional Mojito – €5.95

Drinks at O’Reilly’s Irish Pub

If you’re enjoying your evening Buġibba buzz, and would like to carry on at the next drinkery – head back towards the square to O’Reilly’s Irish Pub for a nice selection of beers, and massive, expertly-mixed house specialty cocktails.

If you fancy yourself a bit of a pool shark, there’s a full sized table available for you to challenge the current king of the felt.

Pint of Guinness – €4.50

Dinner at Bistroteca

Bistroteca offer their guests both quality and variety. It’s rare to find a place where you can order fish, steak, pizza, wood oven pizza, and gourmet burgers, all under the same roof – and confidently know that any item you choose will satisfy your taste buds as equally, and thoroughly. Bistroteca is located in the square right next door to your new favourite café, The Bay Square café, and your (soon to be) new favourite dessert destination, SOTTOZERO: The Gelato Factory.

Salmon Burger - €13

Gelato at SOTTOZERO

There are many good gelatarias in Bugibba…but SOTTOZERO is great. Deciding between their dozens of fresh and experimental flavours isn’t the only choice you’ll need to make – SOTTOZERO prepare delicious traditional gelato, as well as gelato which is sugar free, fat-free, gluten-free, nut free, dairy-free, and vegan friendly. They also have fruit granitas and gelato milkshakes...and cannolis.

SOTTOZERO is a bit of a Bugibba microcosm – there’s something for everyone here.

1 scoop gelato - €1.50
